Secondly, the second Saturday of October is National Chess Day. We will be hosting a celebration tomorrow from 7 till 9:00 at the club. We will provide pizza, hot dogs, sodas, and snacks. There will also be a lecture from FIDE Master Hans Multhopp on the Game of the Century, as well as a beginners’ lecture from Certified Chess Coach Bryan Fleischman. Finally, we’re offering a FREE 3 month membership for anyone who has never been to the Cincinnati Chess Club before.
Lastly, starting tomorrow, the City Championship starts up with its first round at the Deer Park Municipal Building, 7777 Blue Ash Rd. It is six rounds (one per week), Swiss System, G/120;d5. Registration is Friday from 6:15-6:45 P.M. on-site, and the entry fee is $40. Games start at 7:00 P.M. As with all Regular-rated games, notation is required.
