Fischerandom, the arrangement of the pieces is chosen at random, subject to the king being between the rooks and the bishops on each color. This give 960 possible starting positions. Fischerandom removes opening preparation from the game and relies on opening principles - playing it is a great way to practice these.
This tournament will have five rounds. Each player in the round gets the same piece arrangement. Time control is 10+5. Entry fee is $5, and the games are not rated. Notation and USCF membership are not required. 80% of the entry fees are awarded as prizes. Games start at 7:30 P.M.
