The Club Championship was the big news of May and June. Games were contested by 21 players total over five rounds in two sections: the Open championship and one for players rated USCF 1600 and under. After all was over, the winner of the Open Championship, with 4 points scored out of 5, was Hans Multhopp, with Sri Bondalapati coming in a clear second. And in the U1600 Section Srihari Kandadai finished in first place with 4½ out of five points and Stanford Jackson coming in second. Congratulations guys!

The Chess Club was pleased to man a booth at the 18th Annual Health Expo in Washington Park on Saturday, April 30th, where we greeted and played all who stopped by to play or be taught to play chess.

The club looks forward to continuing support of this and other community activities that furthers chess, the study of chess, and the recreational, mental acuity and developmental aspects of chess.
