Announcing the 2025 Cincinnati Chess Club Championship
The 2025 Club Championship starts on May 15 and continues for the following five weeks with one game per night. Tentative schedule is below but please check the chess club website calendar for any changes and/or updates.
Round 1; May 15th 7 PM.
Round 2, May 22, 7 PM
Round 3, May 29, 7 PM
Round 4, June 5, 7 PM
Round 5, June 12 , 7 PM
All bye requests must be made to the TD prior to beginning of round 2 on May 22..
If you are scheduled to play in a round and don’t show up and don’t pre notify the Tournament Director by 6:00 PM on the day of the tournament you will not only forfeit that round but be withdrawn from the tournament. Your entry fee will not be refunded.
All club championship games will be played at the Francis Healy Community Center located at 7640 Plainfield Rd, Cincinnati, OH 45236
The advance entry fee is $40 for entrants that register online by May 14 at 11:00 PM. USCF and club memberships are required to play in this tournament. Registration on-site on May 15th is from 6:15 to 6:45 P.M.. On site registration is $45. Please register early if you can - it really helps get the first round started on time and saves you some money as well. Players may enter the tournament before round two is paired at 6:45 PM on May 22. The first round you will receive a half point bye and pay the full $45 entry fee.
There are two sections, Open and Under 1400/Unrated. You may play up. Time control is G/90;d5. Games start at 7:00 P.M. each week - clocks will start on time. Players should bring their own clocks and chess sets because there is a limited supply of chess sets at the club.
At least 75% of entry fees will be returned as prizes.
There will be no casual play in the community center during this tournament. Casual play will be relocated to the Deer park library from 6:00 PM until 8:30 PM. You will need to bring your own sets and clocks for casual play at the Deer Park library since no club sets will be supplied. There will be no casual play on June 5th.
